When Pre-Booking Is Essential

• Peak season (July–September): Boats often fill to capacity, and popular operators are fully booked days or weeks ahead
• Liveaboards: Always book well in advance — 3 to 12 months depending on the vessel and season
• PADI/SSI courses: Instructors need to be allocated and materials prepared
• Groups of 4+: Operators need to ensure boat capacity and guide availability
• From April 2026: The daily visitor cap of 1,000 makes pre-booking critical for securing park entry

When Walk-In Works

• Low season (December–March): Plenty of availability at most centres
• Shoulder season (April–May, October–November): Usually fine with 1 to 2 days notice
• Solo travellers: A single spot on a boat is easier to fill than a group
• Flexible dates: If you can shift your dive day by a day or two, walk-in becomes much more feasible
