Karang Makassar, known as Manta Point, is the most famous manta cleaning station in Komodo National Park. This nearly 2.5 kilometre long reef attracts up to 50 manta rays at a time, making it one of the most reliable manta encounters in the world. The shallow sandy bottom and gentle currents create ideal conditions for observing these graceful creatures as they circle over cleaning stations. Divers typically hover at around 12 metres depth while mantas glide overhead.
