Standard day trips offer 3 dives per day, which is the practical maximum for land-based diving when accounting for transit time. Liveaboards offer 3 to 4 dives per day.
| Trip Type | Standard Dives | Maximum Possible | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Day trip (traditional boat) | 3 | 3 | Transit time limits additional dives |
| Day trip (speedboat) | 3 | 3 | Faster transit but same 3-dive standard |
| Liveaboard | 3–4 | 4 (plus possible dawn snorkel) | Night dive or sunset dive as 4th dive |
On liveaboards, a 4th dive (night dive or sunset dive) is common. On day trips, a 4th dive is extremely rare due to transit constraints. If you want maximum dives per day, a liveaboard is the better choice.
On multi-dive days, your no-decompression limits shrink with each successive dive. A dive computer is essential for tracking accumulated nitrogen. Diving Nitrox extends your limits and provides a safety margin. After 3 dives to depths of 20–30 metres, your remaining no-decompression time for a 4th dive may be limited, making shallow profiles advisable.
