Absolutely — if you are curious about diving but not ready to commit to a full course. Even at 12 metres in Komodo''s calm sites, you will see healthy coral reefs, tropical fish, and quite possibly sea turtles. For many people, a DSD experience is what motivates them to pursue full certification.
Upgrade path: If you love your DSD experience, you can credit it toward a full PADI Open Water course. Ask your dive centre about the PADI Scuba Diver course (2 days, certifies to 12m with professional supervision) as a halfway step, or jump straight into the full Open Water Diver course.
