Castle Rock is Komodo's best site for pelagic and shark encounters:
Castle Rock demands a negative entry: you step off the boat and descend immediately to the reef without gathering on the surface. The current can be powerful enough to sweep unprepared divers past the pinnacle entirely. Once on the rock, you shelter in the lee side and work your way around as conditions allow, watching the parade of marine life in the blue water beyond the reef edge.
Tip: This is not a beginner site. Ensure you are comfortable with strong currents, negative entries, and SMB deployment before requesting Castle Rock. Your dive guide will assess whether conditions are suitable on the day.
